Dear Loyal Listeners (and Potential New Listeners),

I would like to extend my sincerest apologies on the belated release of the next episode of Radio Isopod. We have been having some technical difficulties as of late. By technical difficulties, I mean, a teething sentient phalaenopsis. As you may recall, last episode Dr. Orchid Killer was kind enough to gift upon me an infant sentient plant whom I lovingly named Fluffy. Unbeknownst to me, or any of the scientists aboard for that matter, apparently young sentient plants go though a teething phase. At least we hope it’s just a phase. At any rate, I had been keeping Fluffy on my desk, and to my folly, he decided that my recording equipment was the perfect chew toy to relieve his teething pains. Between the chewed equipment and phalaenopsis saliva, well, to be blunt, it’s a mess. However, I have complete confidence in the ship’s engineers to put the pieces back together and get everything ship shape again. They have given me an ETA of sometime this weekend.

In the meantime, I have ordered some puppy teething toys for Fluffy. He seems to like them more so than the recording equipment, so that little problem seems to have been sorted out. I am making a note to myself to send an inquiry to Dr. Orchid Killer to see if she has some sort of care guide, or at the very least, fill me in on what other surprises I can expect out of Fluffy as he reaches maturity.

Again, I apologize for the delays and thank you for your patience as we work though these issues. If all goes well the next episode should drop this weekend.

Sincerely,

Captain Tortuga
