Radio Isopod is about the misadventures of the crew of the submarine, the S.S. Isopod. The S.S. Isopod’s primary mission is a safe haven for mad scientists to conduct their mad experiments in relative peace. When they aren’t working on their own diabolical projects, they contract out their services to evil overlords and other interested parties in need of some covert scientific work.
However, it’s not just all work and no play aboard the Isopod. The scientists as well as the rest of the crew make it a point to keep things fun and… interesting.
Radio Isopod brings some of the happenings aboard the ship to the world while still maintaining their super secret location. The show includes discussion on the daily trials and tribulations aboard the ship, updates from the scientists themselves, a bit of music to lighten the mood, and the occasional intergalactic transmission from parallel universes.
The crew of the S.S. Isopod would like to welcome you aboard, for about a half an hour per episode, as they do their best to entertain and enlighten your mad science deprived life.
Submissions
Are you a bit of a mad scientist yourself? Perhaps you’ve come across a strange recording of an alien musical. Whichever the case may be, Radio Isopod is always looking for listener submissions and suggestions. Submissions are usually played during the temporal receiver segment or the lab report segment.
The temporal receiver is a handy little device that the S.S. Isopod’s scientists invented to pick up random audio signals from the universe and beyond. Short stories, intergalactic newscasts, alien adverts, parallel universe poetry, and spacecraft staff memos are some of the eclectic pieces picked up from this device. Submissions for this segment can be just about anything.
Lab reports are just that… reports from the mad science labs of various mad scientists. The S.S. Isopod is a big ship and employs a lot of scientists. Lab reports can be actual recordings of an experiment in progress, a general overview of a particular experiment, or even an overview of the life of the scientist abord the S.S. Isopod or beyond. Submissions for this segment should center around a scientist or scientists (assistants can be useful).
If you have an idea for a segment, but don’t have the proper equipment to record your idea (or are a bit on the shy side), never fear good people of the interwebs! The S.S. Isopod is fully equipped with the latest audio recording apparatus thingamajigers. We would be happy to take a script and audioatize… audioafacate… audioafy… er… record it for you.
Other type of submissions may be submitted and accepted, however, sci-fi themed entries are encouraged. Also, please note that the content of Radio Isopod is mostly clean(ish). If we were forced by laser ray gun to classify the content of the podcast, it would be PG/PG-13.
